Tips to help your child sleep better

sleep-better
    • I often hear too many concerns from parents about their kids sleep disturbance, although too many of them seeks psychologist and psychiatrist help which I also believe it is very helpful but we should not miss a fundamental factor in the sleeping cycle which is one of the function of the ” reticular formation” , this part of our brain that plays core role in the state of regulation and alertness, therefore, kids who suffer from sensory disintegrative disorder needs to regulate this part of the brain to go to the deep sleeping status.

In Order to help those kids to sleep” better” there are few tips that help such as ”

1- Weaning ” them from screen time at least two hours before sleep,

2- Rhythmic Movement which can achieved by slow rocking swinging, followed by warm shower,

3- And deep touch lotion massage.

An occupational therapist who is trained in sensory integration therapy can be a great resource for ” sensory diet” for kids who has difficulties sleeping tight.
