Ms. Amal Al Shamlan is the first UAE national physiotherapist, having graduated from the College of Allied Health Sciences at Kuwait University in 1989. She worked for nine years as a physiotherapist with the Dubai Health Authority before earning her master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Cairo University. Following her postgraduate studies, Amal has been teaching physiotherapy at the University of Sharjah. In 2006, she joined Latifa Hospital as the head of Rehabilitation Services, gaining extensive experience in pediatric rehabilitation.

In 2013, Amal was appointed Director of the Dubai Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Center under the Dubai Health Authority, a position she held until the end of 2015. She holds a certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the South African Physiotherapy Association. Amal incorporates manual therapy, exercise, taping, dry needling, and postural correction in her treatment approach. Besides her clinical work, she serves as the president of the Emirates Physiotherapy Society and is licensed by the Dubai Health Authority.
