Dr. Wasim Labban
Dr. Wasim Labban is a distinguished physiotherapist in Dubai with extensive expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences. He graduated with distinction from the University of Sharjah in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and further advanced his knowledge by earning a master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2009. Dr. Labban continued his academic journey with a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada, in 2024, while also obtaining a postgraduate Diploma in Manual Osteopathy with distinction from the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada in 2022.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wasim Labban has contributed significantly to the scientific and physiotherapy community and has published research in international peer-reviewed journals. His academic and clinical work reflects a strong commitment to advancing rehabilitation sciences and translating high-quality research into patient-centered physiotherapy practice. He is passionate about bridging the gap between research and real-world care to enhance functional recovery and long-term outcomes for patients.
Dr. Wasim Labban has enriched his professional career by attending numerous local and international physiotherapy congresses, workshops, and advanced courses. These include the Human Dissection Course at Oxford University, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for the Upper Limbs at the University of Barcelona, and Diagnostic Imaging for Physical Therapists at the University of Alberta. He is trained in Fascial Manipulation (Levels I & II, Stecco Method, Italy), Clinical Neurodynamics (Upper and Lower Quadrants) by Michael Shacklock, Australia, and holds a Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy from Manual Concepts, Australia. Additionally, he has achieved Level I & II certification in Dry Needling and Myofascial Pain Management with Optimal Dry Needling Solutions, South Africa.
Dr. Wasim Labban is among the first physiotherapists in the UAE to utilize rehabilitative ultrasound imaging for treating pelvic pain and low back pain. He has contributed to the profession by conducting specialized workshops and presenting at international physiotherapy conferences. As a member of the Emirates Medical Association, he has served as the Secretary General of the Emirates Physiotherapy Society (2009–2010) and as the Head of the Scientific Committee (2015–2018). Dr. Wasim Labban is registered with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and is fluent in English and Arabic.
